11/27/08 more jam stuff. and stuff.
People, Tuesday's Rivers + fans jam at Fingerprints in Long Beach was, in the words of Borat, "great success". Read the many comments on the 11/25 story for eyewitness accounts. And for all who werent in attendance, SPIN.com is hooking you up SOLID with tons of video from the event this coming Monday! In the meantime, they currently have an introduction and one song ("Across The Sea") posted up here at SPIN.com.

...Meanwhile, the album Rivers was promoting at the jam, his new "Alone II" is on sale and chock full of great songs and detailed liner notes for you. JUST ADDED: The Sweaters are playing Saturday Nov. 29 at Walters on Washington in Houston, TX.
Tweezer is playing tomorrow, Friday 11/28 at The Cup in Linden, NJ. And also on Saturday 11/29 at Marita's Cantina in New Brunswick, NJ.

Hey, longtime weezoids may recall Ridd, who was our main message board mod many years ago, and has been a strong pal of weezer for a very long time, recently designing cool t-shirts and whatnot for the band. Well, he's got a band called "Satellite Tragedy", and their debut album 'New Beautiful' just came out. Nice stuff! Check it out here.

11/24/08 Alone II out today! Fingerprintz jam with Rivers!
Today is the release date for Rivers' "Alone II", his second collection of home demos! Check it out!
Also, 11/25 Rivers is doing a very special record release instore performance at Fingerprintz Records in Long Beach CA (sold out), a true jam session with the audience, where just about anything can happen and probably will. People, the Troublemaker video now has a special extended "pop up video" version, up now exclusively on MSN Music. Learn all kinds of interesting facts about the video as it plays. Then, check out the first of a Three-Part Making of the Video Webisode Series, also exclusively on MSN Music. Good Stuff!! Also coming shortly to weezer.com is a special Weezer World Records section filled with fun facts and pix from the shoot.

While the Alone II CD is being released next Tuesday 11/25, the Digital version actually comes out on Monday 11/24! So if you are an iTunes type of person, you can get it a day early.

...And in case you were wondering, the swell red hats everyone was wearing at the L.A. Forum show's Hootenanny came directly from WutZupHatz, as a favor to a friend who was in that night's Hoot. So, if you want to wear the red hat worn by 9 out of 10 Hootenanny People (including Rivers!) AND that matches the Red Album perfectly, look no further than WutZupHatz!

People, here's a major announcement pertaining to the upcoming 11/25 release of Rivers Cuomo's "Alone II"... anyone near SoCal on 11/25 needs to check this out right now!
Here's the word from Fingerprints Records, Long Beach, CA:
Fingerprints is ecstatic to announce an album release event straight from the imagination of Rivers Cuomo. It's a bit different for us, so read all the way through, including the details at the bottom about how you can join us for this once-in-a-lifetime event.
Rivers talked about the event in a recent interview with Pitchfork... here's how he explained what will be happening on our humble little stage on Tuesday, November 25th:
"I am doing a really cool event to promote Alone II on the day of release. It's basically another Hootenanny, but it's a little different. Anyone can be a part of it, you don't have to bring an instrument. But if you do bring an instrument, you will be part of the team that gets to pick the songs we play. It can be any song, in some cases, it might just be one person who says, like, "Oh! Let's play this obscure B-side!", and he may be the only person in the room who knows it, besides me, and then it will just be me and that person giving a concert to the rest of the room. And then the next song, there might be 20 people who know it. So that will be a very dynamic event and very fun for me. And I won't have to bring a guitar [laughs]." - Rivers Cuomo
We will be opening the guest list at 11:00am on Thursday, November 6th. The list will be open to people that pre-order Rivers' new album, Alone II: The Home Recordings , with a limit of two spots per person. We are looking for both musicians and non-musicians and will be managing the list to make sure we have enough of both, please don't buffalo us by saying you'll play if you won't. Space will be more limited than usual, as we're leaving a bit of extra room to move around with instruments.
** Please note that we will be accepting RSVP pre- orders for this performance via phone (562.433.4996) and in-person, but purchasing through the website will not get you in to see the performance.

Yes yes, the presidential election... But here's the REALLY important vote!!! ...On 11/2, Weezer got a mention in the "King Of The Hill" show. It was good to know that Hank Hill said "What's Weezer?". It wouldnt have made sense if he was familiar with the band!
